Role/Department Description:

Alpha Analytics and Optimization QRD team is responsible for the research and development of FactSet’s in-house portfolio optimization and alpha models. The team consists of self-motivated and highly skilled professionals. A unique blend of people with strong quantitative and technical skills.


  • 40% Perform research on Optimization methodologies for Portfolio Construction that can be implemented in the FactSet ecosystem;
  • 30% Work closely with Product Development teams and Engineering on implementation of research ideas and on ensuring that the analytics as implemented are accurate and of high quality;
  • 10% Demonstrate to the sales team the new features of the product and help answer detailed questions;
  • 10% Work closely with Marketing to write, publish, promote research papers, contribute to the FactSet Blog, host podcasts and webcasts, establish FactSet’s reputation as a thought leader in quantitative finance;
  • 5% Facilitate the sales process by dialing into or attending client meetings in person.  Become an in-house expert.  Facilitate more effective sales pitches targeted at client workflows, resulting in higher ASV generation;
  • 5% Present research findings at trade shows, industry conferences, as well as FactSet events.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics;
  • Proven experience working with large data sets and performing statistical analysis using python, R, Мatlab, or similar packages;
  • Professional experience within quantitative finance is a plus;
  • Prior experience using FactSet is a plus.
